Pastoral Staff
DEREK SPAIN - INTERIM Pastor
Pastor Derek is currently serving Central as Interim Pastor. He is a native of metro Atlanta and grew up in Dacula, Georgia. He formerly served as lead pastor for Lake Placid Baptist Church in New York and led a missions ministry devoted to Olympic winter athletes. In addition, Derek was the Executive Pastor and Youth Pastor for Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia.
Neil Butler - Associate Pastor
Pastor Neil came to Central in 1960 as a child with his family. He has devoted most of his ministry to nursing homes and prisons and is the former pastor of Family of God Baptist Church in Auburn, Georgia. He and his wife Mary Ellen have three daughters and three grandchildren.
With a long history in Gwinnett County, Neil is a graduate of Central Gwinnett Lawrenceville High School, Gwinnett Hall Baptist College, and Andersonville Baptist Seminary. He is the senior adult minister at Central and enjoys ministering to the senior adults in our congregation.
